Prof Bangchun Wen
Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China.
Bangchun Wen is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and chairman of the China Institute of Vibration Engineering. Professor Wen is a member of the China Committee of IFToMM, the International Rotor Dynamics Technical Committee, and the Asia-Pacifc Vibration Conference Steering Committee. Professor Wen was awarded the title of National Young and Middle-aged Experts with Outstanding Contributions of the first group in 1984. He systematically researched and developed the new discipline“Vibration Engineering” which combines vibration with mechanism. He also did a lot of research in rotor dynamics, and theory and application of mechanical systems nonlinear vibration, vibration diagnosis of mechanical fault, electromechanical integration, as well as the theory of engineering machinery. He issued more than 700 papers, among of which more than 260 have been indexed in SCI, EI and ISTP and has published and edited chiefly over 10 monographs. He has hosted 4 times of international academic conference, and has been the editor-in-chief of 4 collections of papers of international symposium. He has completed dozens of major research projects of national and horizontal level, and gained 2 international prizes, 4 National Invention Award and Science and Technology Progress Award and 8 national patents. There are a number of research achievements which have reached the international advanced level, making significant economic and social benefits.
Prof Zuo Mingjian
Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering
Zuo Mingjian received the Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering in 1982 from Shandong Institute of Technology, China, and the Master of Science degree in 1986 and the Ph.D. degree in 1989 both in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, USA. He is the chairman and chief scientist of Qingdao Mingserve Technology Co., Ltd., and Guest Professor at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. His research interests include system reliability analysis, maintenance modeling and optimization, signal processing, and fault diagnosis. As the project leader, Professor Zuo has undertaken more than 50 scientific research projects, published more than 500 academic papers, made many reports on international academic conferences, and personally trained more than 100 postgraduate and postdoctoral students. He served as Department Editor of IISE Transactions, Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Reliability, Associate Editor of Journal of Risk and Reliability, Associate Editor of International Journal of Quality, Reliability and Safety Engineering, Regional Editor of International Journal of Strategic Engineering Asset Management, and Editorial Board Member of Reliability Engineering and System Safety, Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering, and International Journal of Performability Engineering. He is Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, Fellow of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE), Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC), Founding Fellow of the International Society of Engineering Asset Management (ISEAM), and Senior Member of IEEE.
Prof Asoke Nandi
Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering
Prof. Asoke Nandi received his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge. He held academic positions in many universities, including the University of Oxford and Imperial College London. He was appointed the Head of Electronic and Computer Engineering at Brunel University London in 2013. Previously, he held the David Jardine Chair of Signal Processing at the University of Liverpool. Professor Nandi is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and seven other institutions, including the IEEE and the IET. He was an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer (EMBS, 2018-2019). In 1983, he co-discovered the three fundamental particles known as W+, W−, and Z0 (by the UA1 team at CERN), providing the evidence for the unification of the electromagnetic and weak forces, for which the Nobel Committee for Physics awarded the prize to his two team leaders for their decisive contributions, in 1984. His current research interests include signal processing and machine learning, with applications to communications, image segmentations, and biomedical data. He has made many fundamental theoretical and algorithmic contributions to many aspects of signal processing and machine learning. He has published over 270 papers in refereed international journals (total: 650 technical papers) and six books with an h-index of 85 (all citation figures are from Google Scholar).
